Volunteer Positions | For Volunteer Network Members
Are you interested in working with the public and encouraging others to take action to help save and improve lives?
Then join our Volunteer Network, an alliance of community coalitions and volunteers taking action to increase the number of Illinoisans who have registered as organ/tissue donors.
Donate Life Illinois volunteers live throughout Illinois and include transplant recipients, transplant candidates, and donor family members and friends. They also include healthcare professionals, business leaders, college students and other advocates—who support organ/tissue donation as an important cause and help register donors as a life-giving service back to the community.
Our Volunteer Network is organized into 11 regions
through Illinois:
- Bloomington/Normal
- Champaign/Urbana
- Chicago
- Chicago metro/North suburbs
- Chicago metro/South and southwest suburbs
- Chicago metro/West suburbs
- Peoria
- Quincy
- Rockford
- Southwest Illinois
- Springfield
Upon joining the Donate Life Illinois Volunteer Network, volunteers are required to attend an orientation and training to learn about Donate Life Illinois and receive information on organ, tissue, eye and blood donation. Most importantly, volunteers are trained on how to register organ/tissue donors through donor registration stations, “virtual” donor drives and other campaign activities through Donate Life Illinois ’ Local Coalition Leaders.
We ask volunteers to take part in at least four donor registration events each year. Your local coalition leader and volunteer area leaders will plan and guide activities in your community, coordinate and communicate volunteer opportunities, and provide you with education and updates on behalf of Donate Life Illinois.
To join our network, please complete a Donate Life Illinois Volunteer Application and submit it to DLI Volunteer Network via fax at 630/758-2603. Or mail the application to Veronica Moreno, Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, 660 N. Industrial Drive, Elmhurst, IL, 60126.
Upon receiving your completed application, we will invite you to attend an upcoming volunteer orientation and training session. If you have any questions, please e-mail Veronica Moreno at vmoreno@giftofhope.org.
