Did you know?

Turn your passion for organ/tissue donation into action with your peers! Donate Life Illinois’ yPOD (Young Professionals for Organ Donation) is comprised of motivated young professionals, 21-28 years old, throughout Illinois that volunteer time as advocates for organ/tissue donation and are committed to increasing the number of registered organ/tissue donors through outreach efforts and yPOD network expansion. Give your network and resume a boost, join yPOD today!

“I’ve heard that if I’m in an accident and the hospital knows I want to be a donor, the doctors won’t try to save my life. Is this true?” - Elaine T., Chicago

Fact: Organ and tissue recovery takes place only after all efforts to save your life have been exhausted and death has been legally declared. The doctors trying to save your life are completely separate from the transplant surgeons involved in recovering organs and tissues, who are notified only after your death.

Have you heard something? Get the facts.

Ask the Donor Expert today!

There are more than 7 MILLION people in Illinois who are not registered organ/tissue donors. Help fellow Illinoisans register their decision to donate. Check the events page for volunteer opportunities near you!

Thanks for helping us to save lives!
